About Me


For more than 30 years Cheryl Newcombe has lived in Windsor Junction, in the heart of the Waverley-Fall River-Beaver Bank constituency. She is a capable and dedicated community leader, lending her time to local projects that include community growth opportunities, youth engagement and local recreation activities.

Her political involvement began in the 1970s when she joined the Progressive Conservative Party of Nova Scotia. As a member of the PC Party, Cheryl volunteered on a number of local election campaigns and remained an active proponent of grassroots democracy.

Cheryl is also a leader in the charitable and professional communities, as well as a proud Foster Mom.  Cheryl has served on the board for the Halifax Regional Water Commission,  HRM Regional Plan Advisory Committee, Beacon House Interfaith Food Bank Society, and is currently a member of the Human Resource Association of Nova Scotia, Fall River Ratepayers Association,  the Halifax Stanfield International Airport Authority, Trade Centre Limited and she is the Program Coordinator at her local community centre, the Windsor Junction Community Centre.
